Zurich 13/10/2022 – The grand opening of its first store in the vicinity of Zurich, Switzerland, marked the official business kick-off for MTEL Switzerland, a new member of Telekom Srbija Group. The ceremony of opening the first sales outlet in Switzerland, attended by Mr. Goran Bradić, the ambassador of the Republic of Serbia and distinguished business guests, was officially conducted by Telekom Srbija CEO, Vladimir Lučić and MTEL Switzerland CEO, Stefan Božić. In the first MTEL’s store, all interested customers will have the opportunity to purchase mobile network and TV services that can be competitive to those of local, Swiss operators, by their quality and offering. The offer of prepaid and postpaid plans, favourable roaming packages and the most diverse offer of ex-Yu TV channels will certainly bring closer the offer of the youngest Swiss operator to the diaspora coming from Serbia, Montenegro and Bosnia-Herzegovina. Besides, the MTEL’s offer is created to be attractive to all customers in Switzerland.

Overtly satisfied with continued expansion of business, Telekom Srbija’s CEO, Vladimir Lučić, said: ’’The commencement of providing services in Switzerland is a big day for our company. It is actually a new sequence of the efficient implementation of our strategy that includes, among other things, the expansion of business in the countries across Europe and the globe, primarily in the countries with massive diaspora from the entire region. I take this opportunity to invite all interested customers to become acquainted with MTEL’s services in Switzerland, in our store or via our website, and to witness the quality offer we have catered to their needs. I wish a successful start and great number of customers to our colleagues in MTEL Switzerland, and I can assure them that they will enjoy full support, at any time, from the entire Telekom Srbija Group“.

Following the opening of the first sales outlet in Switzerland, Stefan Božić, the CEO of MTEL Switzerland, said that new markets always pose a challenge, but he underpinned a factor universal to all markets. ’’Top quality mobile services and the most prestigious TV content are the best recommendation when customer satisfaction is concerned, regardless of the market or the country of operations. Our experience in Austria, where we have more than 130,000 customers, 15% of which are Austrians, are the best testimony of our quality. I am convinced that MTEL Switzerland will also achieve great success and that we will quickly become a recognizable brand on this demanding telecommunications market. After a careful study of the quality of network for the provision of mobile telephony, we have chosen SALT as our strategic partner. Owing to its agile approach, SALT has facilitated the execution of highly complex technical solutions that enabled the implementation of so-called MTEL Zone – a single zone for calls and data traffic in Serbia, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Montenegro and Austria in the networks belonging to Telekom Srbija Group “, said Božić.

The specific details about the prospective plans on the Swiss market were presented by Mirza Tahirović, MTEL Switzerland country manager. ’’The store being inaugurated here today is just the first in a row. We plan to open a large number of shops, and our services are currently available at our distributors and on the website I believe that Swiss customers will find particularly appealing our TV offer featuring more than 300 channels, including all the most watched channels in the region (RTS, Arena Sport, BN TV, Superstar, Hayat, OBN and others), as well as special benefits when using our mobile telephony bundles while staying abroad. Our major competitive edge is that MTEL’s customers are entitled to unlimited number of minutes and SMS within MTEL Zone, while they are charged no extra costs for the internet when using the roaming services in the EU, Serbia, Bosnia-Herzegovina and Montenegro. We have set ourselves a goal to be „at fingertips of every customer“ which means, in our case, the development of distribution network throughout Switzerland”, said Tahirović.

MTEL Switzerland has prepared welcome promotions for its first customers. The most attractive ones are iPhone 13 mini gratis, subject to SWISS PLUS tariff, and as for TV service, three months free MTEL TV, subject to 24-month contract for all tariffs.

Presently the youngest member of Telekom Srbija Group, MTEL Switzerland will not carry this attribute for much longer, as further expansion of Telekom Srbija Group is expected soon, to cover Germany by the end of this year and then the USA.
