By completing the online vote and choosing another 20 elementary schools which will receive a million dinars each from Telekom Srbija for equipping information science classrooms, the 7th cycle of the We Create Knowledge project which Telekom Srbija implements in cooperation with the Ministry of Education was concluded. By casting almost 165,000 votes in the application on the official FB page of mts Tvoj Svet, the citizens contributed to selecting the schools that will receive a valuable donation of Telekom Srbija.
Through the We Create Knowledge project, the company has so far equipped 140 information science classrooms in 140 elementary schools throughout Serbia and for this purpose invested 140 million dinars. Every year, the project records a large interest of citizens and local communities, and with their support Telekom Srbija continues to contribute to improving the conditions for acquiring knowledge and digital literacy of elementary school students.
New information science schoolrooms will enable higher quality teaching and make it easier for students to acquire knowledge with the help of modern equipment which follows the latest trends in education. Through this project Telekom Srbija attempts to emphasize the importance of enhancing the digital literacy of elementary school students, as well as the need to see the advantages and risks that the digital environment involves.
The We Create Knowledge project is implemented within Telekom Srbija’s program entitled “We Encourage the Initiators” which empowers the institutions and individuals to launch positive changes in their environment and by their example motivate other members of the community to do good.
