The conference with the award ceremony “Global Banking & Markets Awards: CEE, Central Asia & Türkiye 2025” was held in the Turkish capital on 25 and 26 November, with the participation of 1,085 delegates from 38 countries of Central and Eastern Europe, Central Asia and the host country.
The Serbian national operator won two prestigious awards: transaction of the year in the domain of state-owned companies and transaction of the year on the international capital market.
In October 2024, Telekom Srbija was the first company of the Western Balkans to go public on the European stock exchange and issue bonds on the international capital market worth 900 million dollars, with the interest of the most distinguished investors from across the world in many times higher amounts.
The rewarded strategic transaction is a historic step, given that Telekom Srbija is the first company from Serbia to enter the international capital market, with the implementation of the first “hedging” arrangement with a corporation from the Western Balkans. In addition, Telekom Srbija is the first company from the entire region to receive an international credit rating from globally renowned agencies, which will be confirmed this year as well.
The leading Serbian company thereby confirmed its strong commitment to maximum financial sustainability, ensuring long-term stability and the highest international standards of good management.The bond issuance process on the European stock exchange was conducted by Telekom Srbija’s reputable financial partners – Bank of America, BNP Paribas, Deutsche Bank, Erste Group, MUFG Securities, Raiffeisen Bank and UniCredit – all of which is an additional testimony to the size and significance of the transaction performed, as well as Telekom Srbija’s international reputation, which is unparalleled in the Western Balkans.Telekom Srbija is, by all criteria, the largest and most successful telecommunications operator in the region, with as many as 13 million customers and steady revenue growth, which in recent years has been expanding strongly through its “diaspora project” to the most affluent Western markets such as Germany, Austria, Switzerland, and as of next year, the US as well.
