Telekom Srbija has recorded exceptional successes in the sphere of international distribution of domestic series and films. Just this year the company has achieved a significant sale of original content to renowned world platforms, which allowed the domestic production to win a new, global audience.
“The recent sale of our series program to renowned European television companies and streaming platforms such as Voyo, Walter Presents, Arte and RTP are another significant step toward a successful international sale. Continued interest of the global audience confirms the strength of our stories and the quality of domestic production. We are proud that Serbian content is increasingly finding a place on the world television scene, and such results additionally encourage us to continue developing ambitious and relevant projects. Our goal remains the same – to create content that pushes boundaries and opens doors to new markets”, said Aleksandra Martinović, head of the Multimedia Department at Telekom Srbija.
The achieved international successes of Telekom Srbija in cooperation with GoQuest Media this year are reflected in an impressive number of sales of domestic series and films to reputable global platforms on international markets. The global platform from Great Britain, Walter Presents, known for its carefully selected and high-quality series from all over the world, bought Apsolutnih 100 (Absolute 100). The inclusion of a series produced by Telekom Srbija in its repertoire confirms that local content has the enormous power to stand out and conquer a global audience, passing through one of the most rigorous selection processes. Also, this title was purchased by ARTE (France and Germany), which represents the European public service and cultural institution of the highest rank. This sale represents a historic entry of the domestic production into the elite European cinematographic scene. Apart from this thriller, the Indian OTT Watcho platform also included the series Državni službenik (Civil Servant) and Dug moru (Debt to the Sea) in its selection, thus showing the growing interest of the Asian audience in Serbian content.
The Portuguese RTP, which is a public broadcaster managing several national and international television channels (RTP 1, RTP 2, RTP 3, RTP Internacional, RTP Africa), in cooperation with OBLE TV distributor, has bought the Frust series, which is also the first sale of a Serbian series in this territory.
In cooperation with Jinga Films, a contract has been signed on world distribution of the film Volja sinovljeva (Son’s Will), with the rights sold in nine territories, including Great Britain, Japan and South Korea.
Also, the content of Telekom Srbija is available for broadcasting on VOYO – an international SVOD platform of the CME group which has bought the titles such as Ožiljak (Scar), Smola (Resin), Škripac (Scrape), Ubice mog oca (My Father’s Murderers), Pasjača (Pasjača), Tunel (Tunnel), Influenseri (The Influencers), V Efekat (V Effect), Apsolutnih 100 (Absolute 100), Frust (Frust), Tajkun 2 (Tycoon 2).
These international successes confirm the strategic commitment of Telekom Srbija to the development and promotion of Serbian cinematography. Telekom Srbija continues to invest in the creation of supreme multimedia content and its sale throughout the world, strengthening the reputation of Serbia on the global film and TV scene.
