Belgrade, 6 March 2023 – Season 3 of the series that was first in these regions to feature mystic elements starts airing on 13 March on Superstar TV. The new episodes directed by Milica Lee Filipovski and Leon Lučev will be aired workdays at 9 p.m. The screenplay was written by Marijana Čulić Vićentić and Bojana Maljević.
The producers of the new season include Monte Royal Pictures and Telekom Srbija. The head of the Telekom Srbija Multimedia Division, Aleksandra Martinović, said she was pleased the popular series would have its sequel.
“Telekom Srbija continues to invest in cinematography and to offer the audiences a content of verified quality, as is also the case with this series, but at the same time completely innovative and original. The Dug moru series already has its audiences and a large number of fans. Therefore, I am confident that they will not be disappointed by the new season and that the fresh plot and the world of mystery on the seashore will also attract many new viewers”, she said.
Season 2 ended in the death of three protagonists, and just when the townspeople thought they had escaped all the predicament that befell them, the village was overwhelmed by new awkward circumstances. Director Leon Lučev said that in the new season a good basis for joint direction had been established, and that despite the intense pace of filming, it had been a pleasure to work with a wonderful cast who had made the whole process so much easier.
Actress Bojana Maljević, who is also the producer, said that at the outset of the project, it was uncertain as to whether three episodes, one season or three seasons would be made.
“I am grateful that Telekom has recognized the quality and peculiarity of this project, that magic realism of ours which no other series can boast of. We will make a fourth season as well and I’d like to call on everybody who has not seen previous seasons so far to do so and follow the evolution of the characters. It is something that I believe the viewers are attracted to as they are primarily interested in protagonists’ inner appeal”, she concluded.
The cast that guides you through the story revolving around the protagonists’ lives and guilts, includes Ana Lečić, Vule Marković, Dragan Mićanović, Dubravka Drakić, Aleksandar Radenković, Vesna Trivalić, Nada Šargin, Zoran Cvijanović, Petar Božović and Jelisaveta Seka Sablić who is a member of the cast as of Season 3.
She said that before receiving the role, she used to watch the series and for that reason, the invitation to join was both a surprise and a great joy.
“I have not landed a role of this kind for a long time. I play Štriga, an elderly woman who is actually an old witch. I once read that all elderly women are actually witches and I believe there is some truth in it. This was an extremely emotional experience for me – the genre is specific, my fellow actors are wonderful and I really enjoyed the experience”, she concluded.
